Renting, Buying, and Selling Pool Bonds

The sale of a bond is a transaction between the bondholder and the purchaser. While the board has set the price at which they sell a bond, currently $500, members are not held to this and may sell their bond for any price they choose. The rental of a bond is also a transaction between the bondholder and the renter, and the bondholder may rent for any price they wish. However, the board requires that member bonds which are rented post an additional $200, making the dues for the season $600 for bonds which are rented.

The only limit to bond sales is that the purchaser must be approved by the board. Typically approval only involves verifying the residence of the purchaser, and ensuring that their purchase does not result in greater than 25% outside the community ownership--this is required by our by-laws. There is no "grandfathering" assumed when a member who lived in the community moves outside of the community. ALL members are constrained by this requirement. If you would like to sell to someone outside the community it is best to check with our membership coordinator (listed on the homepage under "Bonds For Sale") if there are any slots available to folks outside the community. That said, the board may decline approval for any sale at their sole discretion -- please refer to the by-laws. In this way we ensure that our pool remains a valuable community asset. On a similar note, bond rentals are not limited by area of residence and are generally approved, though the board reserves the right to deny a rental at their discretion as well.

In this forum you may advertise your bond for sale or rent; it is open to viewing and posting by non-members. Posts to this forum may take 24-48 hours to appear because all posts are moderated. All inquiries to the board regarding bond sales or rentals will now be directed to our Marketplace forum to ensure maximum exposure to prospective purchasers and renters.

Under "Downloads" you can find an application for sale or rental of pool bonds. Prior to the due date of annual membership fees, application may be made without payment. After the due date, application must be accompanied by full payment including any late fees. No request for sale or rent will be considered without this form, and where appropriate, without payment.  We will not respond to applications that fail to meet these criteria. No sales or rentals can be considered approved without notice from the board.

The membership coordinator will no longer entertain new requests for the sale or rental of your bond, but we will honor those we have already accepted and continue to refer inquiries to those members. Because we are a volunteer board we would like to pare down our operations to those truly necessary for the operation of the pool. This also means that there will no longer be any proprietary lists of members who would like to buy or rent;  you will be subject to the marketplace.
